It's never been easier to support the Santiago Cavaliers Football Program! Simply log onto http://txtmyfundraiser.com/go/cavs and donate as little, or as much, as you'd like! Not near a computer? No problem, text the word "Cavs" from your mobile phone to 67777 to donate!
If you value the work that these young men are doing in our community, please support them by pledging to donate to the football program. Together we can provide them with an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to show their city that they care. All funds raised will be used to provide pre-game meals, new uniforms and equipment as well as educational opportunities for players outside of the classroom. Thank you for your support.
On Saturday, July 9th, our Santiago Cavaliers were 1 of 33 teams participating in a summer passing and lineman tournament at Santa Fe High School. The Cavalier 'skills' players were given a chance to put their training to use in several 7 on 7 passing games.
Meanwhile, the linemen, were puting their talents to use in several competitions geared towards their abilities. The events included an obstacle course, relay race, as well as the crowd favorite, Tug-O-War.
On Saturday June 18, 35 Cavalier Football Players and Coaches joined the Garden Grove Public Works Department in a city beautification program called "Project GO". The team spent hours painting areas of our city. The team continued to bond and showed great enthusiasm while working to show how much the students of Santiago High School care about the city that they live in. The 2011 Cavalier Football Players are quickly becoming a Family on and off the field.
On Thursday June 16th, the team volunteered at the Orange County Food Bank. In two hours, the team was able to prepare 1080 boxes of food, for Seniors in Orange County that are unable to feed themselves. The players were amazing! The team truly became a family and worked extremely hard to help the community. Below are pictures we would like to share from the day. This Saturday, the team will be volunteering for the city of Garden Grove and "Project GO", a graffiti removal project. The Cavaliers are excited to have another opportunity to lend a helping hand in their community.

The outcome of the game was not assured until the final minute, but Bolsa Grande was able to squeak by Santiago, 21-14, in a Garden Grove League game Thursday night at Bolsa Grande High.
The game was close all evening. Bolsa Grande took the lead in the fourth quarter on a 23-yard pass from senior quarterback Jake Flores to senior wide receiver Justin Nguyen with 11:05 to play.
With less than a minute left the Cavaliers were at the Matadors 30-yard line, but they came up short on a fourth-down play when a pass attempt was incomplete.
Santiago was able to pound the ball offensively much of the game, led by sophomore Richard Sagastume, who rushed for 182 yards on 35 carries.
The Matadors made some adjustments, though, at halftime and slowed Sagastume in the second half.
Bolsa Grande was led by Flores, who had a solid second half where he led his team down the field throwing the ball and also running it on the option.
This was the last game for both schools as Bolsa Grande finished 4-6 overall and 2-3 in league while the Cavaliers fell to 1-9 on the year and 1-4 in league.
